A busy weekend away over the late summer Bank Holiday weekend at the Dame Catherine Art Exhibition, Ticknell, South Derbyshire. This is the largest Art exhibition outside London and I was lucky to be squeezed in despite having missed the selection days whilst being in the South of France photographing a wedding.
The weekend weather was fabulous, given that much of August in the UK has been unseasonably cold. No doubt this helped the event exceed last year’s success! It has a lovely informal, friendly atmosphere and the standard of art work is high. Nice to see an art event recognising and valuing art photography.
Naturally, we spent the weekend in our motor home, giving her one last trip out. We enjoyed it so much we are tempted to hit the road again, but there are just too many upcoming events… Can we sneak away one more time?
